1. Buttons to adjust all functions are indented. Earlier models (that I have owned) had them extruded. (think of an inny or outie belly button). Result: Very frustrating for fingers of any size to adjust anything on the watch
2. If, in setting the time for 8:00 for example, you happen to go to 9 you have to continue through the remainer (10-11-12) etc to get back to 8. The earlier version allowed you simply to back up. If in fact you could do this with this watch, I could not because of the darn indented button design)
3. It is difficult to tell if the alarm is in the on/off position and more difficult to tell if the hourly alarm is in the on/off position. As a side note, who buys a watch with the goal of having an alarm that rings on an h ourly basis? You may find that an hourly alarm during the nighttime bothers you or, if not you, your BFF. During the daytime co workers tend not to be fond of that function. Maybe a light or maybe shading of the watch face to indicate an alarm function is activated would be helpful
4. A booklet that is so small and at the same time so lengthy it is intimidating. We are in an internet age. Put in a o ne page note that says “For detailed instructions consult Casio/Net at Watch instructions and download the particular ones you need. (That would save paper as well)
5. Amaxon, please tell your representatives how the Review process works. I could not figure out how to send this e mail so I called the Rep. I told him I knew I was overlooking something and that it was my fault but he did not have a clue what the review process was all about. Luckily, my daughter called and figured it out at once.
I co ntinue to be a huge fan of Amazon. I love the ordering process and always asking other companies why they do not adopt similar, simple procedures. I love the book selection and the option to buy new or used.

Is this something new about cheap, short-life batteries being supplied with Casio watches?
I just ordered this watch from Amazon last Wednesday and received it today, 2-23-2010. I set the time and date and looked through the User’s Guide. On page E-28 under “Battery Replacement” and “Initial Battery” it states this about the initial battery:
“The battery that comes loaded in your watch when you purchase it is used for function and performance testing at the factory.
This type of test battery may go dead quicker than the normal rated battery life as noted in the User’s Guide. Note that you will be charged for replacement of this battery, even if replacement is required within the watch’s warranty period.”
How long has this been going on? Is this a new statement in newer User’s Guides, or has this statement been in the manual for years? Please comment on this. Is the same statement in other Casio watch User’s Guides? It is ridiculous of Casio to provide anything other than normal, full-life batteries to their customers. None of their ads say anything about selling watches with short-life batteries. Casio may save a few pennies but its customers lose many dollars and have the considerable bother of an earlier first battery change. This is my 4th Casio watch, and I don’t recall seeing this statement before. I’ll try to find the User’s Guide for my other Casio. On Feb. 26 I am adding that my User’s Guide version on the last page is MA0907-C, printed in China., in Casio Men’s DW5600E-1V G-Shock Classic Digital Watch
